I know that all of my readers want to know what I am listening to so that they can base what not to listen to on that list. So I’m going to offer up a little bit of what is on my heavy rotation right now.
Thong Song – Sisqo
I know that it was asked on VH1 at some point, but I really am also curious. What does it mean to have “dumps like a truck.” Do I really want a girl with such a characteristic? It is an especially odd lyric in a song about underwear. One can only guess what was going through Sisqo’s mind.
Whole Again – Atomic Kitten
Long time readers of this site will know about this song. It is the one I listened to exclusively for a week. And it is still the only song that I can never grow tired of, for some reason. Conservative counts of how many times I’ve listened to it are around 400. That is positively insane. The only reason I can come up for liking it so much is that it perfectly captures a moment in my life, and I want to hang onto that moment.
Hennessey – 2Pac & Obie Trice
Pac is incredible. Dead for years and still putting out new stuff. Its great. Anyway, the real reason that this song is amazing is because it is a rap song with an accordian part in the background. Rock out.
Freedom 90 – George Michael
I heard this on my trip to Kansas City. We were walking around Saks and I heard this and said out loud, a little too enthusiastically “This is a GREAT song.” Apparently that makes you gay. Whatever, I love cheesy gay pop songs.
Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue – Toby Keith
I’m sorry.
Believe – Cher
See above for statement about gay pop songs.
N Dey Say – Nelly
I don’t know what the original song that this is based off of is, but I heard it the other day and started saying Nelly’s lines over it. I think the Nelly version is quite an improvement, even though I don’t give beggers money at the gas station. They get enough out of my paycheck already… (I didn’t just say that.)
Where Did Our Love Go? – The Supremes
I’ve been listening to a lot of sad songs lately. This is one of them. They are really getting me ready for May. What happens in May? Lots of people leave, and one very important person leaves. So I listen to sad songs and think about that because I am a glutton for pain.
Look What You’ve Done – JET
Most blatant Beatles rip-off since Oasis. And yet I still love it. Also a little sad.
Hanging By A Thread – Nickel Creek
Sad.
So yeah, that is a pretty good selection of some of the songs I’ve been listening to lately. This pretty much reaffirms that I have terrible taste in music. Oh well.

The Spook’s Very Secret Service happens to know that there is a high demand for Abby’s … huh… Abba’s Waterloo in St. Louis.
So if you like George Michel, you could do some David Cassidy as well, please.
Do you want to hear my special story about George Michel? No, you don’t.
When entering the previous entry I got the message that I entered the wrong code. I’m afraid your session variables get timed out too soon. Is there anything you can do about?
“So Chester, do you know the language of love?”
“Yeah…hey prettylips…come with me sugarbutt.”
“You’ve called a girl sugarbutt?”
“Yeah…and I keep cereal in my pocket to feed ‘em.”
Just because.
