I tend to move through music pretty quickly, so these might be pretty regular. I know that you all love them and go out and immediately find all the music that I listen to…
Lonely – Akon
This is a weird little song that is a little bit rap, a little bit R&B, but has the feel of an old country song, probably because it samples the chorus of an old country song. Be warned, it is a very sad song, especially if you are an idiot in relationships.
Jumpin’, Jumpin’
Some old school Destiny’s Child. I like it. Makes me want to dance.
I Love Them Ho’s – Eamon
Yep, that’s the guy who sang “Fuck It”. Yep, he had another song. This one samples from “I Only Have Eyes For You.” I’m a huge sucker for modern songs that sample old songs.
Goin’ Back to Cali – LL Cool J
I made the mistake of making an away message that was “Goin’ back to Cali”. I got a whole bunch of people asking me if I was taking a trip to California. Apparently my friends haven’t heard of this song, which is awesome and weird. Check it out. It has horns.
Express Yourself – NWA
I don’t normally like rap from before 1995-6. But this song is funky and makes you want to get up and dance. And Dre’s rapping is pretty tight, which can’t always be said for him.
Number One Spot – Ludacris
A complete novelty song that probably takes too many cues from Austin Powers. But I still turn it up when I hear it in my car. Check it out for a laugh.
Obsession – Frankie J
I kinda like Latino rap, even though I can’t understand what they are saying half the time. Baby Bash makes an appearance on this track, which makes it even better.
That’s about it for this week. I’ve been watching a lot of MTV Jams trying to find new stuff, but not really making a lot of progress so far.
