I’m So Lucky

For a while I’ve avoided writing personal stuff on here, for various reasons. But I’m going to write about Laura here. And if you get upset, then you should go somewhere else.

Last night was Laura’s thesis presentation. She has been working on this for many months, so it was a huge deal for her. Basically it was the culmination of the last two years worth of stuff she’s done. I knew that it was going to be good, because I think that everything she does it good. But what I saw last night blew me away.

Admittedly I’m biased. I was going to think that hers was the best no matter what. But I like to think that objectively hers was far and away the best of the night. What she did was to make some animations of various famous pieces of art going to therapy to talk about their issues. (If you know Laura, this makes perfect sense.) The end result was hilarious, and witty, and smart and amazing. The whole audience was laughing like crazy as they should have been. One of the experts even said that it reminded him of early Monty Python.

I was, and am still, so amazingly proud of her. What she did was so professional and yet funny and incredible at the same time. I’m running out of superlatives to describe how much she impresses me. Just imagine the hugest amount of affection you could have someone. There you go.

I’m so lucky to have someone as great and similar to me as Laura in my life. Everyone should have someone so bangin’ off the hook in their life.

(Sorry to get so sappy, but I don’t really care.)

Why don’t you just tell that you’re madly in love with the girl.
