Why does St. Louis get no love on the national baseball scene? Why am I having to watch Houston and Atlanta in prime time? Why does God hate the Cardinals?

You’ll go nuts trying to figure out God’s likes and dislikes. The other day I heard some idiot newscasters (they weren’t even on Fox) talking about the destruction in the aftermath of the hurricane and how so many religious icons, statues of the Virgin Mary, etc, had been spared in areas where everything else was gone. And they said, with this creepy awe in their voices, “It really makes you think…” As if there is a God up there who was perfectly fine with killing babies and old people, kittens and puppies, but managed to save his statues.
Sigh.
Well I, for one, don’t want to believe in that God – or a God who hates the Cardinals either. But remember, Nate, Willie McGee was a Cardinal. I think that says it all.
