Goings Ons

I know that it has been a while since I’ve posted. The only excuses I have are that I’ve been lazy and umm… Yeah, that’ll do it. But I’m going to sink to the lowest depths of the blogworld once again and make a “random shit in Nathan’s life” post. Thanksgiving cooking went well. Charley [...]

We’re Number 3

Of all of the warnings I got when I moved to New York, the one I never understood was the safety one. For some reason people still associate New York and danger. But it looks like maybe the problem is a little closer to home. We’re Number 3!

A Bed

I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this, but for the past 3 and a half weeks I’ve been sleeping on a couch. Not a nice, big, fancy, long, luxurious couch, though. No, this couch is short and it hurts my back every night. I’ve been waiting to get a bed, though, because I’m going to [...]

Queen Rania

Totally hot. I present for your viewing enjoyment, the Queen of Jordan. Now you can’t tell me that she isn’t gorgeous. That King Abdullah is one lucky King. Pictures of the Queen I guess it’s like they say: “It’s good to be the King”.

God I love Student Life

All of the badmouthing that I’ve ever done was made up in one article today. Not Safe for Work The best part was the following quote: Construction worker Bill Williams witnessed the event and said, “I was a little disappointed because the girl-to-guy ratio was a little low.”

Fuckin’ Scary

I was making a left turn onto Delmar from DeBalivere today. Nothing outrageous about that, right? Well luckily, as I was making the turn, out of the corner of my eye I saw someone who was clearly going to ignore their red light and fly through the intersection at about 40 mph. This person was [...]

Sometimes I Think

And that is dangerous. But what I really wanted to say is that sometimes I think that instead of programming or working with computers I should work with broken people. Or is the “PC” term “damaged”?

My Instructor Today Said

“You can’t be both male and female. That’d be awesome! (laughs)” Everyone else in the class laughed too. I just looked at him like he had lost his mind. I don’t know what he was thinking. I guess he wasn’t, which I should appreciate.

Brain Damage

I have been smelling shoe polish all morning, and it makes me believe that I am damaged. Of course, a bunch of other stuff makes me think this too. This is just what’s making me think of it at this instant.

Whoa

I’m in training this week for ASP.NET. The instructor walked in and wrote the following on the board: “If your bored go to www.asp.net.” I just wanted to share…

Shopgirl

Shopgirl by Steve Martin is one of my favorite books of all time. It is short, and sweet, and funny, and sad, and really everything that you’d ever want in a book. The first time I read it I finished it in under 2 hours. Those are the kinds of books I like. So understandably [...]

It Happened One Night

Last night, actually. I was over at Emma’s fixing her computer. Her sister, Molly, came down, looked at me and said “Hi, I’m Molly. Who are you?”, in a manner that would suggest to an outsider that we have never met. Interestingly, I’ve known Molly for over 5 years. Molly and I have had Thanksgiving [...]

Said to me this morning

“Did you take a wrong turn on the George Washington?”
