Best Thing I’ve Read in a Long Time

So why doesn’t God heal amputees? This article even refutes the arguments of “We can’t understand God.”

When your grandpa was fighting cancer, there were many, many prayers said for him in all denominations, yet the ending was not what was prayed for. Your grandfather was a deeply good person and he suffered terribly for a very long time. With something this horrendous a person loses that feeling of God as “big daddy pie in the sky” who grants wishes and takes care of things like a celestial concierge. Yet I do believe in a higher power that created the world and I do believe our lives have some meaning. It is just a giant mystery that I can not begin to understand, yet I do pray for myself and others, and sometimes those prayers are answered, and sometimes they are not. Prayer is more an opportunity for us to communicate our thoughts to the universe. Meditation is supposedly a way to get messages from that universe. Sometimes I receive answers that just pop into my mind, and sometimes I do not. At any rate all I can do is try to be the best person I can be without being a total sap, and deal with the things that come my way good or bad.
