I’m Glad I’ll Never Be

Okay, so this is a really stupid thing to have an opinion about. I’ll admit this beforehand. And it borders on hypocritical, since I have a blog. But I don’t really care. I have decided that there is a new class of people that I hate.

Women who read other women’s blogs about being a mother, and leave comments that either a) address the blogwriter woman like they are longtime friends, or b) use the comments as a place to tell a long-winded, horrendously boring, and only related to the originally post in the slightest sense, story about their own child. I get the feeling most of these women live in the suburbs.

I despise them.

Please withhold all questions such as “Nathan, how did you discover this vile sub-class of sub-humanity?”

These sound like some of the characters I encountered when I took girl scout leader training, some women who monopolized the conversation talking about individual cases – BORING. There are all kinds of people in the world, some of whom are boring, and these definitely are to be avoided. I can overlook much in people, but not BORING. Yes, these were suburban mothers, but not all suburban mothers are boring. In fact some of my best friends are suburban mothers, and in fact I was one, too.
