I Wrote My Senators

I am very disappointed to see that you are siding with those who wish to limit stem cell research. As a type 1 diabetic, this sort of research is very important to me, as it could lead to breakthroughs that would allow me to lead a normal life, free of constant shots, blood testing, doctor’s visits, pain, and worrying by everyone around me.

These embryos are not life. What they are is something that could be used to save or improve a life.

Your decision to pander to a small subset of the voters, and choose something that is not living over a real, live human being, is despicible and embarrassing. I am ashamed that you represent me in the Senate, and this issue alone is enough to cause me to do everything in my power to force you out of office.

I am very, very proud of you for being aware of the world around you and taking a stand, and writing your senators.

You are absolutely right in everything you said there. But what I love is how you tell me that I don’t do anything at work, that I don’t have a real job. Even though everything I do is to make sure people get elected who will make the right decisions on these issues.

Russ is wrong on a lot of important issues.

Not this one. You may not agree with some of his decisions on things like the PATRIOT Act – I certainly don’t – but the fact of the matter is that few members Congress are as strong as he is on matters such as Stem Cells and Health Care.

There’s no one that you are going to agree with on everything. And he’s still a freshman Congressman. You should listen to Dad every time he tells you to hold your judgement until his third term.
