I’m taking two classes this semester, because really, I don’t have anything better to do with my time, so I might as well go sit somewhere besides my apartment. Also, I think it will be a good way to distract myself for about 6 hours a week from thinking about my stupid diabetes. And I might as well screw Wash U out of as much money as I possibly can, right? Although I did have to give the fuckers almost $400 for a parking pass because they are getting all uppity about parking now that there are Metrolink stops everywhere.
Anyway, the first class is Fiction Writing Seminar, which is basically an advanced version of the fiction writing class I took in the spring. (Which, if you’ve been paying attention for years, was the same fiction writing class I took back in my senior year.) It is taught by the same guy, and should be fun. I wrote a story last semester that needs a second half which could work well for this class. And it is going to be fun resisting the urge to write about diabetes.
The second class is something like “History of American Music”, or “American Music: A History”, or “American History As Shown Through Music”. I don’t know. It sounds kinda blowoffy but fun. It is just something to do that won’t require too much thinking. I mean, I could take Calculus if I wanted to, but I’m not THAT stupid.
