Metrolink

I took the new Metrolink extension to work today. It works out because one of the stops is 3 blocks from my apartment, and the other stop is literally right in front of my work. It also happens to work out that there is a stop on main campus and a stop near my parent’s house, so I can take it to work, school, and my parents house.

I’d say this morning was a pretty positive experience. The train was right when the schedule said it would be. There were plenty of seats so I actually got to sit down. The ride was relatively short. I definitely plan on using it more.

In general I’m for public transportation, but most of the time I am for it in the sense that I love other people to use it so that they aren’t on the roads when I am. But I genuinely enjoyed myself this morning, and thinking riding it is good for a number of reasons. Health, money, good for the environment. All that jazz.

So basically I’m recommending it to anyone out there who it would prove useful too, which, sadly, is far too few people.

Charley said that the next time he and I were going to your house that we would park in Shrewsbury and take the Metrolink and call you on his cell phone to pick us up at the station. I think that would be fun.

Charley and I did ride the Metrolink and thoroughly enjoyed it. We even took the return trip via going all the way to Scott Field and back. There were a lot of people going to the ball game. However, on the return trip we shared a car with three couples who would have set records for crudeness on the NY subway. We were not sorry when they got off at the convention center stop.
