Diabetes Walk

This Sunday at 10 am there is a diabetes walk in Forest Park. It is a type 1 diabetes thing, so not for oafs. But anyway, my mom wanted me to post something. You can come, if you want. Or give money to the JDRF (juvenile diabetes research foundation.)

Or, best of all, you could just give me money and I’ll spend it on something awesome like little foam airplanes. You know, help out a diabetic for real, instead of giving money to some foundation that is never going to cure this stupid disease anyway.

We’re meeting at 9:30 Sunday morning at the upper level Muny parking lot in Forest Park. If you want to join “the Nato Forces” let me know so I can get you a hat, sash or whatever I decide we need to be decorated with. Good fun will be had and airplanes can be flown before, during and after.

There WILL be a cure eventually, and hopefully soon. It is ever so much more manageable than it was years ago, and dedicated people are working on it.

Nathan that is so sad. I understand that the chances look bad now and it seems like we are just giving money away to a hopeless future, but don’t be so negative, please. Things will get better. Hell, in my mom’s lifetime she went from there being no pumps to having these magical machines which have made her life so much better. So there is hope. Not a crazy amount, but a little. Oh, and when are we gonna steal that baby elephant from the zoo?
