A couple of weeks ago my dad bought a little foam radio controlled airplane. We went out and flew it and it was the most fun I’ve had in a long time. It is just a cheap little thing, with two little propellors that can run are variable speeds in order to turn. And that’s it. No elevator control or rudder or aileron control. No guided weaponry or air to air missles. No landing gear or radar system.
But still, despite these lacks of features, it is so much fun. After that first one we have bought 3 more, all different designs that fly differently. We just take them over to Forest Park and fly them in a field for a while and it is awesome. Especially when the birds come and swoop at them because they think it is a bird. And even more especially when it goes out of range because it gets caught in the wind so you have to run it down across a field and then it nearly crashes into some trees and then into a stream and then into some more trees before finally landing safely.
Anyway, the company that makes them is called “Air Hogs” or something, and the model that is the most fun to fly is the “Aero Ace” biplane. So if you have $30 free, and want to have some fun, I suggest you go to Toys R Us and pick one up and go to a park and act like you’re 10. It’s fun. Trust me.
