Airplane Update

I realize that no one cares about this, but I really do, so I’m going to write about it. It is my blog, after all.

The airplane is coming along nicely. The entire tail section is done, as is the wing, and 30% of the fuselage. There is still some minor stuff left to do, such as go back and install the ailerons, but I need the electronics in order to do that.

Speaking of electronics, those were just ordered. I got a radio and servo kit (cheaper than using my dad’s radio and buying the servos and everything, in the end) and the entire engine kit. I still need to order the battery, but that is coming from a different manufacturer, and the website for the battery I want is on my work computer. The plans call of 6 cell batteries that are either NiCd or NiMh, but LiPo batteries are just as powerful but about half the weight.

Okay, so I’m really nerding out here, and probably need to stop that. But I’m really having a great time building it, and I think I’m going to be sad when it is actually built and ready to fly. I guess I’ll just have to do another one at some point then.
