The East Village Opera Company — only the most amazing band of all time — will be playing tomorrow at The Sheldon. If the last 6 times I’ve heard them play are any indicator, the concert is going to be ridiculously fabulous. The group is either a rock band that does opera covers or an opera company that does some of the best music of all time in a rock style, making them even better, depending on how you look at it. The band typically consists of a 5 piece rock ensemble (2 electric guitars, bass, drums and keyboard), a string quartet and two of the most phenomenal singers I’ve ever heard. For touring purposes, the ensemble has been pared down to only one electric guitar and a string trio, but the effect is minimal — the group still rocks. Hard.

I’m pretty sure I saw your sister’s post in a livejournal community about that same music group. If it wasn’t her, it was someone whose writing style is almost identical.
