So tonight the President is going to announce that he is going to send more troops to Iraq to try to solve the problems there. And this makes me furious.
One, we can’t stretch our military any further. Despite what right wing nutjobs thing, we can’t just send more and more troops all over the world. The army isn’t infinitely big.
And secondly, did Bush not get the clear message from the American people that they don’t want more troops? Did he not understand that he doesn’t have the mandate anymore to do what he wants?
God it makes me so mad. He acts like a fucking king.

I will be sure to tell my cousin that he has your support…
I voted against him the first time, and can not imagine how anyone with a single functioning brain cell could have been fooled. He will surely go down in history as the WORST president we ever had.
If we had spent even a fraction of the money we have spent on this war to fund a serious research effort into alternative energy sources, everything would be very, very different. I hate that people around the world see the actions of this idiot and think he represents “Americans.” We are (or should be) so much better than this…
I hope the comment, Anonymous, is not to imply that I do not support our troops. The right has co-opted “supporting the troops” to mean “support the President”, and that is completely not what it means.
It is possible to support the troops and disapprove of the mission that they have been assigned to do.
Right on. Of course we support the troops. That is precisely why I am so against this war. Not a single one of these precious young people is “disposable”, and beyond that there are many who have been horribly maimed for a false cause. Three billion dollars has been poured into this unjust war. It boggles the mind to think of what could have been done positively with such a sum. When all the truth comes out, as it eventually will, there has been a great deal of waste and graft, with no-bid contracts and who knows what else. But the main consideration is the waste of human life.
