So I don’t think I’ve posted this, but Phil got a technical internship position at Yahoo! for the summer. So that means he is going to be leaving the friendly confines of West Campus! to work out in Silicon Valley. That’s fine. Whatever. He’s selling us out, but I guess I did sort of the same thing.
Anyway, the main point is that Yahoo! is in California and Phil is here. So to get from point A (here) to point B (Yahoo!), he is going to drive. And I will be his co-pilot.
Ordinarily this would be fun. Or at least “funish”. But I have to be at work on Monday. And tomorrow. And Phil has to be at work in California on Monday. So we’re leaving after work tomorrow, and driving all weekend, and then I have a redeye flight back from Oakland to St. Louis on Monday so I’ll get back in time to go to work.
This is probably ridiculous. And stupid. And insane. But if anyone has those 3 characteristics to pull off this sort of trip, it’s me.
