I worked both days this weekend. We missed our project deadline, so now we’re working hard to make sure we’re no more than a week late.
It is getting ridiculous. I need a day off.

I used to get so mad at my PM because I would go in for a status report early on in the project…all the issues, expected problems, yada yada yada and say I really think we need to move the date out. Get approval now because based on this information, and the project’s history, and the stakeholders we are dealing with… [this] date will make more sense. I’d say even if I work 70 hours a week we won’t make it… Of course no one would move back the date, I’d work 70 hours a week for the remaining months of the project, we’d miss the original launch date by 1 week, then they’d push it back another week and that’s how it kept going until we met the date that I suggested as more realistic. That’s why I can’t work in that environment anymore…you’re set up for failure at the beginning and then you work your arse off anyhow and get kicked along the way. No, I am not bitter or anything!
PS, take the day off.
