I just discovered this great band. You probably haven’t heard of them. I don’t think they were that popular. Anyway the band is ELO. I recommend that you check them out.

Ahem.
Am I missing some sarcasm? Surely you knew ELO. They were pretty big in the late 70s. The genius behind them was Jeff Lynne who later was in a band you liked, the Traveling Wilburys, with George Harrison, Tom Petty, and Roy Orbison. Lynne also teamed up with Brian Wilson on his first solo album on the song, “Let it Shine” which I know you heard a bunch of times in my car when you were young.
I had some ELO cassettes back in the day. If you’ve never seen it, the movie XANADU is a hoot and they did much of the music. It was Gene Kelly’s last role in a musical and he has a really neat song and dance sequence with Olivia Newton John. The rest is so lame it is hilariously camp.
