Yesterday Kelly, Alex, Abby and I went pedal boating in Forest Park. If you’ve been through FP in the summer or spring, I’m sure that you have seen lots of people out on the lake at the bottom of Art Hill and the creeks around it. And everyone looks like they are having a good time and everything is glorious.
Well I’m gonna let you in on a little secret. They aren’t happy. They are miserable. Because it is hot out and they are pedaling their asses off and they get covered in sweat and there is no shade. Plus there are all these other people you have to worry about hitting or accidentally cursing in front of. It is ridiculous.
No, the time to go is yesterday. Or more appropriately, in the late fall or the winter. When we went yesterday there was literally no one else on the lake. And all the pedaling just warmed you up so you wouldn’t freeze.
So seriously, go tomorrow. Or this weekend. You’ll enjoy it. But only take 2 people, or you’re just hauling dead weight.

How ’bout I just let you take both of my children? Physically they only count as 1 person combined, but “physically draining” they count as at least 5 people. I’m pretty sure either you or them wouldn’t make it back to shore.
