I just got the LCD replaced on my laptop. That was great. I got applecare and they just took care of it. But when my laptop came back, they took the RAM out. The same thing happened when I got the fans replaced on my laptop. They took the RAM out.
Now I’ve been using this memory since the day that I got the laptop, and it has been fine. I’ve run the hardware test multiple times (for example, when I tested the fans) and never has the memory come back bad.
I really think that it is just their policy to remove “cheap” memory and tell you it is bad so that you think you have to buy “apple” branded RAM or whatever. And if you didn’t know better, you might believe them.
