Dumbest Idea Ever

Apparently someone at cnn.com got it in their head that people out there want t-shirts that have the various headlines from the site printed on them. I don’t understand this. Who sees a news headline and decides that they want to own a piece of clothing with that on it?

Right now you can get a shirt with the headline “Nude model tells why she bared all” on it. Alright, I get it. It says “nude model”. Giggle. But other than that, it doesn’t make a lot of sense why you’d chose THAT for your t-shirt.

Actually, now that I’m writing about this, I have a sudden desire to collect CNN headline t-shirts. And so maybe, in that, I have discovered their target audience.

Update:
I found the site where they have all of the headlines. Most of them make NO sense. http://www.cnn.com/tshirt/allshirts/

Update 2:
“Tiny Okl. City bomb victim graduates”. Tell me, please, who wants that on a t-shirt?

Update 3:
Maybe I’m evil, but I think that the following headline is t-shirt material… “Girl who lost feet on ride demands action”

Update 4:
Okay, last update, I promise. But why, oh why, is THIS headline not available for a t-shirt… ‘I helped O.J. get away with it’

You know, I first saw this about a month ago and almost ordered a few shirts (including “Sleepy Bear Doesn’t Want To Wake Up”), but I held off citing fiscal responsibility. But damnit, I just couldn’t say no to “1 in 3 workers hungover at the office”. $20 down the drain…
