Finally Making the News

STLToday’s Story about the attack

Phil’s Surgery

It turns out that Phil is going to have to have surgery. It is scheduled for Monday at 11:00 or something like that, and after that he will have a 2 week recovery time.
He has asked that in lieu of flowers or cards, everyone send me money so that I can buy an iPhone.

My Glasses

The glasses that I’m wearing on my face right now have been my glasses for four years. They started my first full time job with me. They moved to New York and back with me. They have been there through several girls, and several apartments. And they got beat up the [...]

Thank You

Lots of people have been sending lots of sympathy to me and my family, and it has been kind of hard to get back to all of them. So this goes out to most people that I know, so thank you all so much for being there right now, and offering to help in [...]

Phil

This picture is kinda gruesome, so only click if you want to see what Phil looked like last night.
I do think it is hilarious and awesome that his first response was to take a picture of himself and post it on facebook.

More On The Attack

It is unclear yet whether Phil is going to need surgery. The bone below his eye is broken, but it is right on the borderline of where they do surgery or not. He is going to see a specialist on Wednesday to get it evaluated, and we should know more then.
In the one [...]

Jumped

Last night, walking to my parents house from the metrolink station, my entire family and some poor kid from Austria were attacked by a mob of 40 black teenagers. We got beat up pretty bad. I have a bruised eye and a burst blood vessel and broken glasses. But Phil got it [...]

Puerto Rico

Sorry for the lack of posts, but I’ve been in Puerto Rico, and it just seemed wrong to spend a lot of time updating my weblog. But we’re in kind of a lull right now, chilling out before going to get dinner, so I decided to give it a go.
Overall I’ve had a really [...]

Glaring Omission

So it is almost a month late, but Happy Birthday, Abby!
In my defense, I was out of town without a computer at the time.

Engagements

I don’t know what is going on. Maybe there is something in the air. Maybe global warming. High gas prices. The weak dollar. The mortgage crisis. Brett Favre talking about coming out of retirement. But something is very wrong in the world. Allow me to explain.
On May [...]

Ashamed

You may or may not believe this, gentle reader, but I am quite often ashamed of my behavior. So since my weblog has morphed into the male equivalent of the “women with a problem” blog that I described years and years ago, I figured that I’d blog about it.
So yeah, quite often I’ll do [...]

Getting Your Hopes Up

Yesterday I had an experience that I don’t really want to explain in full detail on here. But let’s just say that I was very excited before it happened, and spent all weekend looking forward to it and preparing for it. It seemed like a really good way for me to fix a [...]

Happy Birthday, Phil

Today is Phil’s 23rd birthday. In 3 less years than me he has accomplished the following:
Gotten engaged.
Found a job with a much higher salary than mine.
Gotten a master’s degree.
However, I will always be his older brother, and therefore, I will always know better.

Clarinet

Well I had so much fun playing my saxophone in West Side Story, that I went out and bought a clarinet. I realized that if I wanted to do more shows like this, it was going to be necessary to expand my instrument repertoire. Sure, the tenor saxophone is great, but it doesn’t [...]

Tennis

When I was in elementary school, tennis was my favorite sport. I absolutely loved it. I’d spend hours hitting a ball against the back wall of our old house. Somewhere along the line that passion faded. But I still have a soft spot in my heart for it, and usually watch [...]

WSS – The Finale Post

Gonna make this short, because I’m super sleepy. But I had an amazing time doing West Side Story. It is among the most fun things that I think I have ever done. I will absolutely do something like that again.
I especially want to thank Abby for doing it with me, my parents [...]

The New Stltoday.com

I don’t know if anyone out there regularly reads www.stltoday.com, but up until very recently, I did. I’m somewhat of a fan of local news, and it seemed as good a place as any to get a rundown on the top local issues. But all of that changed recently when they decided to [...]
