Lately I’ve been noticing a trend. I’m not sure if it is because of high gas prices, or if there is a stupid wave that is blowing through the air, but whatever it is, it is driving me insane. What is this thing? People driving much too slow on the highway in the middle lanes.

I’m not even talking about someone going 60 in the middle lanes. It is fine to drive the speed limit. But lately I’ve been coming up on people going 45-50 in the middle lanes of the highway. Now I know that it isn’t illegal. They are driving above the minimum speed limit. But still, it is super obnoxious, and honestly, potentially unsafe.

So this is my plea. If you read this, and you drive 50 miles on the highway, that’s great. But please stay in the right lane, where slow traffic belongs. And before anyone gets on me about how you’re not supposed to drive in the right lane because entering traffic has to merge, well I used to think that too, but it is not the case. The traffic on the highway always has the right of way, and it is the job of the merger to merge safely. So bam!
