This is going to sound like a shameless plug, but I don’t care. So just deal with it. Anyway, I’ve had an Xbox 360 for about 3 years now. I got it after being diagnosed with diabetes thinking that I’d exercise while playing it. Well, that never happened, and for a long while my Xbox has sat pretty much unused. I don’t have a huge amount of time to play video games, as much as I enjoy them.
But then, a couple of weeks ago, Phil bought an Xbox. And that changed everything. Now we are able to play video games together over Xbox Live (the Xbox online multiplayer system) just like we are in the same room. We can even talk to each other while we are playing.
It has been a huge revelation. It is so much better than talking on the phone, because then you have something to do in those awkward moments of silence. Right now we’ve been playing Forza 2, which is a car racing game. But today I got Grand Theft Auto 4, so soon we are going to be stealing cars and running over bystanders. I’m also thinking about getting Castle Crashers, which is a game where you attack a Castle.
Anyway, I am completely sold on it. We’ve been having a lot of fun, and it is a good excuse to play video games without feeling like a bum for playing video games. If anyone out there has family that is all over the country, I’d definitely recommend this as a good way to keep in touch.
Also, if anyone has any good recommendations for multiplayer xbox games, then please, let me know.

GET CASTLE CRASHERS, it is freaking awesome and I can’t get like half of the achievements w/out playing multiplayer.

Oh my! You are getting sucked in too? Trav plays xbox live for hours and hours!! He plays Call of Duty. It’s been a year since I’ve lost him to it. I’m kicking myself in the butt for finishing the basement.
Regardless, I’m glad you are able to visit with Phil at least! – Amy
