I got to work this morning, and was on the elevator, and I put my hand in my pocket and noticed something funny. I couldn’t put my finger on it. Literally. I had forgotten my insulin pump.
I guess I was in a rush this morning, and was preoccupied with making sure all the animals were taken care of, and I forgot to put on my pump. This is the first time that this has ever happened, so I’m not really worried, but it was still a pain in the ass, and made me feel kinda dumb.
In the end I had to drive home, immediately after getting to work, and then drive right back to work. That wasted an hour of my day, and so now I get to stay an hour late. All because I’m an idiot and forgot to put on the one thing I have to have to survive…

I am very proud of you for going home to get it. It is of utmost importance. Everyone forgets something once in a while. The extra hour tonight will make you not forget this again soon. I was very encouraged to learn that the new Supreme Court Justice nominee is a Type l diabetic. She got the news when she was 8, and it didn’t stop her. It is a bad disease, but can be handled.
