Guest Poem

There once was a Gov. named St. Mark
With an outlook both righteous and dark
He told folks what to do
Hey y’all gays – don’t y’all screw!
And he packed up his gear for the park.

Well it turns out “the park” was a lie
Cause the Gov had a ticket to fly
There were lines to be crossed
(and some vows to be tossed)
Though he SAYS he just went there to cry.

Now this story must end for the Gov.
And he’s given his sweetie the shove
Left her clutching her parts
Cause Republican hearts
Know hypocrisy is their first love.

There once was a gov. from the south
posessed of a very big mouth
to criticize others, but with his
own druthers – showed a morality droughth. Grandma (no man from Nantucket)

I’m not here to defend the dude, but to be fair he has taken very little interest in moral issues over the course of his career. He’s alllll about fiscal conservatism.

I think it is a little ridiculous honestly that people are calling for him to step down. I’m far from a supporter, but marital infidelity is not a reason that someone should be removed from office (you’ll remember we all said the same thing when Clinton was in office).

I personally could care less about his politics or morality. I just think the guy is hilarious, and has no clue when to shut up, and no idea what is appropriate to say to the media.

I agree that marital infidelity isn’t a reason for him to resign, but Sanford was one of the ones calling on Clinton to resign! Loudly. That’s the hypocrisy. And I can see asking him to step down for being irresponsible about his office.

But however you feel about his politics, you’ve got to love that the man has “sparked” this poetry in us all. :-)
